A new video podcast from pacificpelican.us is here, after a months-long hiatus. It’s a little more than two minutes and features Jessica, me, the birds, and some Indians fans and more including us talking in a restaurant. The soundtrack is taken from Jessica and my new album, Neener 1. If you want more videos with our songs in it, check out the “Cactus Juice” podcast and the “Mountain Range” music video. For more videos, check the video tag on the djm cloud blog.

Podcast 50

Lexington

We cap off season 4 with a podcast that starts with Jessica and me, along with ducks, in a couple parks in Columbus; then we check in on parakeets Belle and Sparty as they perch on their repurposed CD rack and tweet; as the video moves on we see Jessica walking around Central Park with Les, and then we see some denizens of New York either ignoring the camera–or reacting to it. Also stars a messy dog and some bold pigeons.

One Day in San Francisco (podcast 49)

SF

Bush Street

After our wedding, Jessica had our honeymoon in Maui–and in San Franicso for a day. We checked into our hotel downtown, then ventured west into the city where we first met. That day we took the N Judah under the peaks and visited Sharon Meadow and Golden Gate Park, along with old Haight Street, and Jessica explained some artistic ideas.

The Parrots of Lahaina, Maui (podcast 48)

Jessica and I enjoyed a wonderful honeymoon in Maui, and in between exploring Haleakala and swimming at Big Beach, we visited an amazing store in Lahaina which has beautiful parrots (and pot-bellied piglets!). Jessica had fun interacting with the three sun conures, one of which was super-friendly, one of which was bity and one of which was somewhere in the middle.

Dan’s Comedy Special

I don’t really have much to say about this one. It’s my comedy special. Set in mid-February Lakewood Park, it was sort of a disaster and much of it had to be cut in the editing process, so enjoy jokes about drinking and unemployment.

podcast 46 – Cactus Juice

Jessica and I go out in Lakewood, the music about moonshine plays, and the dancing begins! Belle and Sparty the parakeets fly around the house. Then we take a trip across the river to the Coventry area of the east side, after seeing massed seagulls in a steel lands rail yard. And before we’re done, we stop by the Tremont Farmer’s Market ‘Treemart’ in Cleveland’s Lincoln Park.

podcast 45 – goose landing

The video opens with a brief discussion of geese and Ava the parakeet. Then a trip from Lakewood through a wintry Cleveland continues: from a lady looking for a party in Gordon Square to Jessica walking in the snow in Rocky River to a freezing festival on Columbus Street to a drive through snowed-out neighborhoods on the east side.

Some of the music in this episode is original material, which you can download–you can see a list of the audio files on this page.

The Christmas Rainbow

The first part of this short 44th edition of the podcast features a bike ride on Christmas along Lake Erie by Jessica and me wherein we discover a rainbow over Cleveland. Then the clips at the end are from a couple days later when we drove out to Pennsylvania to visit some family who are loyal members of the Steeler Nation.

Birdsong

When we travel and take our parakeets, the birds can get very chirpy and talkative–or very quiet. But when they’re settled into the normal rhythms of home, they often break out into beautiful song. This short clip captures just a glimpse of their pretty phrasing and pleasing tone.
You can see more about our birds at the parakeets blog.
